Surname: Haruno Type: Kekkei Genkai Requirements: Must be born in the Land of Rain or Land of Thunder Description: The Haruno clan has its name in the roots of both Amegakure and Arashigakure as a founding clan. Their incredible taijutsu prowess and nearly unparalleled medical skills are highly sought after and, as such, made them one of the first clans Riku Tensei allied with when forming Amegakure. A decent portion of their numbers were given to Arashigakure as a gift when the village was founded, making both villages a force to be reckoned with. Still, a few nomadic members can be found here and there.
Haruno clan members have a vast knowledge, understanding, and control over the human body; both their own and that of their opponents. They can perform a number of offensive and defensive tasks such as shutting down one of their five senses to defend against Genjutsu or targeting an opponent's pressure points thanks to their unique doujutsu - the Kekkyuugan.
Perks:
- As a Haruno, picking up the medical arts is rather easy. This perk negates the intelligence rating required to learn Ijutsu. Costs 100 EXP
Capabilities: With the Kekkyuugan active, the Haruno are granted a number of abilities. They are granted a +5 boost to their wisdom with the doujutsu active. Pressure points of anyone they look at become highlighted in gold, providing a "golden opportunity" to be targeted to strike, often causing intense pain and/or numbness and paralysis. Wounds become highlighted in red with scars/improperly healed injuries in dark red and recent wounds in bright red. The presence of poison even shows up green. Peering further into the body, the Haruno can see an opponent's muscular structure, skeletal structure, and even down to their circulatory system, seeing injuries and weak points along the way which they can exploit. Being able to see an opponent's muscles, they can see which ones tense up and are granted an additional +3 boost to wisdom when guarding/fighting against taijutsu or bukijutsu.
The clan has a number of unique techniques as well, such as the ability to shut down senses to defend against Genjutsu or shut down their chakra network to avoid detection.
Power Scale:
- D-rank: The Kekkyuugan can only see the surface, granting no bonus to perception in taijutsu but an overal +2 bonus. Hitting pressure points takes a bit of focus and planning and ijutsu comes easy but still has a long ways to go.
- C-rank: The Kekkyuugan can now see down to the dense skeletal structure, bypassing the muscular structure due to the imperfect level of control. Weaknesses and wounds can be seen in the skeletal structure. Exploiting pressure points has become something of a "special attack" for most Haruno of this level.
- B-rank: The Kekkyuugan can be refined, dialing down to see into the muscular structure and granting the passive +3 wisdom (against taijutsu or bukijutsu) atop the standard +2. Weaknesses and wounds can be seen within the muscular structure. Hitting pressure points has become your go-to move to turn the tides of battle.
- A-rank: The Kekkyuugan can reach down to the circulatory system, seeing the flow of blood, watching organs, and even observing the respiratory system. As usual, weaknesses and wounds are highlighted, as well as poison. Attacks on pressure points now end every combo. The Haruno can now shut down their body's senses for the cost of an A-rank technique each, making them immune to jutsu that affect that sense but also handicapping them.
- S-rank: The Kekkyuugan has reached its penultimate form, able to see heartbeats through solid matter and detect a pulse at a mere glance. Pressure point combat is often the primary form of combat at this stage, disabling an opponent within seconds. The Haruno can even shut down their chakra network, making them unable to perform jutsu above C-rank but simultaneously unable to be sensed through chakra.
